Dear Mr. Mochida,
I received the tape and supporting documentation for the experimental
FM synthesis system. The tape is impressive as some of the tones are
very nice, indeed.
We have had some difficulty here with our sound system, in addition to the
fact that I have a great deal to do in regard to our proposals for research
support. I am sorry, therefore, that I have not been able to accomplish
as much as I had hoped, in particular, a number of sound experiments.
As I must return to Berlin tomorrow, I will finish a complete
set of comments which I will send as soon as I arrive there. In addition,
the team here at Stanford will do computer analysis of piano tones and then FM
simulations which will be sent to you.
